This RS-232/422/485 serial adapter by Delock connects serial Sub-D 9 interfaces with an RJ45 connector. The adapter cable thus offers a simple solution for transmitting serial data with a Cat.5 cable.
Transmission characteristics for the serial adapter
A standard LAN cable, e.g. category 5 (Cat.5) has much better transmission characteristics than a standard RS-232 cable. It enables higher data rates to be transmitted and longer distances to be bridged without additional signal amplification.
